Good quality pegs go into soft soil easily but bit harder pushing them into hard ground, once in place they are sturdy and secure.

I took delivery of a small number of 7" plastic stakes which I needed for some garden stands I wanted secured. In the past I'd have used some wooden ones or old metal tent pegs and would have wasted an inordinate time on the project. Now these made of Polypropylene sourced from PHD FURNITURE are going to do the job and will even be reusable once the current need is done with. They say they're ideal for soft surfaces but that applies to any stake really. It's a good idea in my opinion, if the ground is overly hard (in the summer of 2025 with the intense heat that is likely) to drench the ground first with a watering can and leave it for an hour or so or open up the first couple of inches with something suitable and then wet it. At the time of the review, they're costing approx 30p each (20 @ £5.99). I like them and keep the unused ones in my greenhouse along with brief details of when/where so can get more if needed.
