This is a roll-up 8 foot putting mat that can be assembled and disassembled quickly, so is good for those short on space. The quality overall is OK. The mat itself is good with a rubber backing to keep it in position on most surfaces. The plastic return channel and backstop and hole are just OK - they work well enough. The return channel is quick to connect together and works OK to get your putted balls back. I'm not sure you need a bunker and water hazard to either side of the hole as you either put it in the hole and it comes back via the return channel or you have to go and retrieve the ball anyway. They don't look brilliant either, so in my view they don't really add anything to the product. As is typical of these (to have the ball-return function work properly) the hole end is raised so accurate putting practice from 2 feet is not recreated given the slope involved. So you have 2 feet, 4 feet, 6 feet and 8 feet markers to practice from but they don't recreate a 2 foot putt on a putting green, for example. The markers do allow competitive play with others though. At the current price of ~£60 that seems rather expensive for the quality of the item but it is easy to assemble and put away again as needed. Overall 4 stars from me.

This is a very well made golf aid but will it improve my putting? It certainly looks good when it is laid out - all 8' of it and it only takes a couple of minutes to set it up. Without doubt the outstanding feature is the ball return which eliminates the need to chase after your ball on every shot. If not for you it will make a great gift for a golf enthusiast.

Comes boxed with the 8ft mat rolled and attached, so only required the return channel, backstop and hole cup to be installed - all this takes one minute. The cup doesn’t sit 100% flush in the unit we have - it keeps lifting on the right by a few mm, but not enough to affect any putts. The mat has a few bumps due to it being rolled up in the box, so needs a couple of days to flatten out. However, in the interim, the bumps don’t affect the roll too much. The return channel works ok. The quality of the mat is ok - it’s rubberised underneath so gives it some cushioning (truer to real life, rather than a piece of felt mat on a hard floor) and keeps it in contact with the floor better. I initially thought it would be good not to have any markings on the mat, but it actually allows games to be played with the kids - putt from 2ft, then 4ft and the first to sink from 8ft is the winner. Not a bad product, but £60 is a little premium, hence 4*. Would make a decent gift for gold enthusiasts.
